Frank J. Wideman, III, President of The Self Family Foundation announced the following grants were awarded by the trustees at their July 23, 2016 board meeting:

Project Hope Foundation, Inc. – $150,000 grant payable over three years and designated for establishment of a therapeutic program for autistic children and youth in the Greenwood County area.

Greenwood Community Theatre, Inc. – $25,000 grant for the Penguin Project theatre for special needs children and youth.

Greenwood Community Improvement Foundation – $16,300 grant designated for the purchase of donor management software for nine nonprofit organizations.

Greenwood Performing Arts – $10,000 grant for the establishment of an inter-generational outreach program focusing on senior adults and youth.

Town of Ninety Six – $3,000 grant for environmental drawings for water run-off at the 96 Mill Park.

The Self Family Foundation’s primary areas of emphasis are education, community wellness, and arts, culture & history. The Foundation’s chief geographic area of interest is Greenwood County, South Carolina. Trustees are Mat Self (Chairman), Sally Self, M.D., Jay Self, Bubba Self, Furman Self, Cade Brennan Jackson, Ginger Self Goldsmith, Laurie Self Pulver, M.D., Welborn Adams and Ankoma Anderson.
