The Next Generation Board is comprised of the fourth generation members of the Self family. Its primary focus for giving is to support youth development in Greenwood County, South Carolina. The board meets twice a year, and proposal deadlines are May 15 and November 15. Grants are awarded in June and December.
The Next Generation awards grants to diverse programs which focus on youth literacy, children’s recreational and cultural opportunities, and outreach for neighborhoods and communities. Each application is assessed with a strong emphasis on the asset-based approach to community development. Grantees partner with community resources, neighborhoods and youth-oriented organizations to enhance the development and wellbeing of our younger citizens.
