The Self Family Foundation’s role in the communities we serve is that of partner rather than benefactor. While we work hard to meet the needs of Greenwood and surrounding areas, we receive many more worthy requests than we are able to fund. Our grantmaking is limited — especially in times of market downturns. Therefore, we are particularly interested in projects that make the most of other existing assets in our community — especially those that may have been untapped — and in projects that involve cooperative efforts among nonprofits, businesses, government agencies and individuals.
The Self Family Foundation is limited by law to grantmaking only to organizations recognized as nonprofit agencies by the Internal Revenue Service. We do not make grants to individuals.
